You can visit the hunting castle of Count Colloredo-Mannsfeld, climb the Brdy ridge or observe endangered bird species at Padrťské Ponds, the largest water area in the region.
Do you have a mountain bike and lots of energy? Don’t miss the cycling path along the ridge of Brdy. The route starts in Černolice (6.5 kilometres from Restovna). On the way, you can admire the unique Černolické Rocks, the pilgrimage chapel Skalka and views of Mníšek and nearby Kytín. Then, the road leads to Zadní Třebáň, and if you make it all the way, you will have almost 50 km in your legs.
Another interesting route starts in Spálené Poříčí. Through ancient beech forests, it will lead you to Padrťské Ponds, the largest water area in the region. In addition to the silvery water, you can observe endangered bird species, including the sea eagle and black stork. There is a peat bog not far from the ponds. On the way back to Spálené Poříčí there are a number of nice views.
Unlike the more demanding Brda Ridge Trail, this route is suitable for beginners. The elevation gain is not great, and you will be hidden in the shade of the forest paths for most of this 55 km-long journey.
Another popular destination for cyclists is the hunting castle Tři Trubky, built at the end of the 19th century by Count Jeroným Colloredo-Mansfeld. During the period of the First Republic, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and his later successor Edvard Beneš enjoyed their stays here.
The trail from Rožmitál will take you to the chateau, which you can take to Rokycany via Strašice and the water hammer mill in Dobřív.
The Brdy Cyklobus connecting Dobřichovice, Mníšek pod Brdy and Kytín will help you transport your bicycle. This special cycling line runs on non-working days from 26 March to 31 October along the route Dobřichovice, railway station – Černolice – Řitka – Mníšek pod Brdy – Kytín. In Dobřichovice, connections in both directions connect to trains to Prague and Beroun.
Right by the Restovna you can connect to the Mníšecko cycling route, which later splits into blue (towards Měchenice, bypassing Davle) and red (towards Klínec). Finally, you can reach Mníšek pod Brdy (14 km), from where many other routes branch off.
